Description

Across cultures and magical traditions, from witchcraft and shamanism to ceremonial magick and mysticism, practitioners discovered the same principle: effective magick requires a shift in consciousness. The witch learns to step beyond ordinary awareness and enter a state where intuition, symbolism, and intention flow more freely.

This workshop explores how witches deliberately enter those altered states.

Rather than treating trance as something mysterious or rare, we approach it as a trainable skill. You will learn how different traditions induce trance, what actually happens in the mind during these states, and how they can be used to enhance magical practice.

During this live Zoom workshop, we will explore the core principles behind gnosis, the altered state of awareness that allows magical intention to move beyond ordinary thinking and into deeper layers of the psyche.

You will learn:

  • What the “witch’s mind” really is and why it is central to magical practice
  • The two primary pathways into gnosis: inhibitory and excitatory trance
  • What happens in the brain during altered states of consciousness
  • How to recognise the threshold state where magical work becomes most effective

This workshop is not just theoretical. Throughout the session you will take part in guided practical exercises designed to help you experience these altered states directly. These include breath-based trance induction, rhythmic methods used in ecstatic traditions, and a demonstration of how gnosis can be applied to magical intention.

By the end of the workshop, you will have practical tools for entering trance deliberately and recognising the mental threshold where magical work becomes far more powerful.

This workshop is suitable for practitioners of any magical path and for those who wish to deepen their understanding of how consciousness itself becomes the witch’s most important instrument.

There will be a Q&A session at the end and the workshop is recorded for those not able to attend on the day.
